The La Smorfia Bed and Breakfast is located in the heart of the historic center of Naples, on the third floor of an eighteenth-century building in Via Santa Maria di Costantinopoli 30. The property is served by a lift on the floor.
It was the Baroque palace, with its splendid Sanfeliciana staircase (almost a fifth of the theater) and the courtyard, where the original stables are still visible, to suggest the name for the residence. At the entrance, in fact, the drinking trough for carriage horses is still preserved, dominated by the mocking grimace of a mask.
From there, the immediate connection with the “Neapolitan grimace”, an ancient city tradition of dream interpretation, connected to the game of lotto, which attributes specific numbers to events, people, animals or objects.
The furniture is characterized by the mixture of ancient and modern and by the recovery of part of the original materials. All embellished by the installations and design furnishings of the art master Giuseppe Di Dodo, the perfect interpreter of the spirit of “La Smorfia”. A unique atmosphere in the heart of the historic Neapolitan center.
